Justin Ellis Cobby
Justin started studying martial arts at 18 years old in 2010.
Born and bred in Busselton, Justin started training in Muay Thai out of the community hall and had his first competitive fight after a year.
In 2011 the small Muay Thai club would close, Justin would travel to the next town over to start training and fighting out of Bunbury MMA under Shaun Spooner and Dave Smith.
Justin picked up MMA and BJJ quickly, becoming the WKA Bantamweight State Champion.
As a coloured belt Justin would win and medal at many BJJ tournaments, claiming state championships.
Justin would go on to make his professional MMA debut in 2016, being the main event on UFN in Sydney.
In 2017 Justin would switch academies to Grappling Fight Team where he focus solely on BJJ and grappling.
He would earn his brown belt in 2018 and black belt in 2022 under Alvaro Bobadilla.
In 2021 Odyssey Jiu Jitsu was born, giving Justin a place to share his knowledge and give back to the martial art that has shaped his life.
Today, you can find Justin on the mats, everyday, learning, teaching and practicing the jiu jitsu lifestyle.
