We are proudly affiliated with Grappling Fight Team (GFTeam). GFTeam was founded by Master Julio Cesar Pereira in 2007 and has since grown to become one of the most prestigious and successful grappling teams in the world. We are IBJJF recognised and teach grappling for self improvement, defence and competition.


We offer a variety of adults and kids classes in a safe and controlled environment. Our kids classes are categorised by age, and our adults classes vary according to level of skill and experience. Beginners and experienced competitors are welcome.


Our head instructor, Justin Cobby, has 12 years' experience training and competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has won multiple gold medals in the Australian BJJ scene. Justin has also competed in Mixed Martial Arts at the professional level.


What is a gi?

a gi is a thick garment traditionally worn in brazilian jiu jitsu. it can be gripped, manipulated and leveraged to be used against you or your opponents.

Are your classes suitable for beginners?

Yes, our classes cater for beginners to guarantee a comfortable and safe learning environment.

Do I have to be fit?

BJJ is for everyone. No previous fitness or ability is required.

What should I wear?

Students on a trial class may wear a comfortable top with sleeves and loose fitting bottoms without zips or pockets. Minimum dress code for Gi is matching colour Gi pants and jacket with a rash guard or shirt underneath. Minimum dress code for NoGi is a rash guard and shorts without pockets or zips.

Where can I purchase training gear?

Academy training gear is available on the members store. We have high quality training gear at reasonable prices only available to our members.

Can I come down and watch?

Absolutely. Bring yourself or your child to watch a class. Or take a free trial class.
